The boys in the older group in our Tuesday Wilsons creek Nature Ninja bush school have been working hard rain or shine to create the epic “Nature Land”.
After the floods we have been cleaning up and reviving a section of the creek using the debris to create an epic kingdom of structures and artistic expressions. With a focus on resourcefulness, collaboration and cohesive communication the improvements are seen not only in the landscape but most importantly in the way they relate to themselves, each other and their environment.
It has been so cool to see them all safely cruising around with knives, tactical shovels, machetes, ropes, palm fronds and all sorts of materials putting it together in imaginative ways. It makes my day when I see them call each other over to help out on their project with high spirited efforts.
One can really see the community spirit of comradery coming out in these moments which is so poignant at these times.
“Give me a Boy in their natural state and I’ll show you the man within "
